There are those who teach in classrooms, and then there are those who build the classrooms themselves. R.S. Parasar belongs to the rarest of the second kind — a visionary who has spent not months or years, but three full decades quietly transforming the educational landscape of India.
As the General Secretary of the DPS Trust, Mr. Parasar carried not just a title, but a responsibility that few could fully grasp — the responsibility of bringing quality education to the doorsteps of children who might otherwise have gone without. With extraordinary dedication and an unshakeable belief in the power of learning, he oversaw the establishment of schools across 69 districts spanning multiple states of India. Each school was not merely a building; it was a promise — a promise to a child, a family, and a community that their future mattered.
Thirty years is a long time. Long enough to grow tired. Long enough to step back and rest. But Mr. Parasar chose a different path. Instead of looking back at what had been built, he looked forward — at what still needed to be done. He saw that India did not just need more schools. That conviction gave birth to the National Education Leadership Fellowship (NELF) — a bold, free, and fully residential program designed to shape the next generation of education leaders. It is the crowning chapter of a life already full of remarkable chapters.
